Research grants cycle for 2022/2023 is currently closed.
In line with Al Jalila Foundation strategic goal to support the brightest researchers, our research grants give researchers the opportunity to address important questions about health and disease in the UAE.
To respond to the local and global challenges of cancer disease, and to help the UAE develop the capacity to address this dilemma and other diseases in future, Al Jalila Foundation is inviting applications to conduct a 2-year research study relevant to the UAE on cancer.
Research Priorities Related to Cancer
- 1. Accurate diagnostic methods.
- 2. Novel therapies.
- 3. Encouraged Cancer themes: Breast Cancer, Intestinal Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, and Ovarian Cancer.
- 4. Other Cancer focused topics will also be considered.
Priority will be given to applicants focusing on the above priorities with translational impact.
The research grants provide up to AED 300,000 to support basic science, translational, or clinical research projects. Grants are available to UAE Nationals and residents of the UAE provided the research is conducted in the UAE. Applicants should hold positions at universities, research, or clinical institutions in the UAE.
Please note that Al Jalila Foundation currently does not support research that requires clinical trials.

Stage 1: Al Jalila Foundation initial screening
Stage 2: Scientific Advisory Committee review and shortlisting
Stage 3: International Peer Reviewers review and shortlisting
Stage 4: Scientific Advisory Committee selection and recommendation
Stage 5: Al Jalila Foundation approval
Stage 6: Applicants will be informed about the award decision
