Al Jalila Foundation to sponsor postgraduate research degree at Harvard Medical School

Al Jalila Foundation, the global philanthropic organisation dedicated to transforming lives through medical education and research, announced today its first international scholarship program in partnership with Harvard Medical School.

In line with its vision to position the UAE at the forefront of global innovation Al Jalila Foundation will support the UAE’s brightest young minds to pursue research. The Dubai-based foundation will sponsor a scholarship program [Master of Medical Sciences degree in Global Health Delivery] at Harvard Medical School as part of its efforts to encourage medical professionals to pursue training in global health delivery to contribute to the nation’s quality of healthcare.

The two-year Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery is a post-graduate training program focused on the ‘last mile’ of health care delivery and the optimization of treatment outcomes. The program includes a HMS-based curriculum followed by a 9-month mentored research project in the UAE.

Dr Joia Mukherjee, Director of the Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery program, commented:

This Scholarship will allow people from the UAE to join us at the Harvard Medical School for the Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery program. The MMSc-GHD exists to educate leaders practicing global health on methods that allow them to evaluate and implement programs to achieve equity in health outcomes. We are grateful to Al Jalila Foundation for their support and look forward to working with students from the UAE to evaluate and improve health care systems for all.”
